Trying to design some elements for a more fitting Wordpress theme. What do you guys think?

This was by far the biggest family I’ve shot. Most of the families I’ve taken photos of usually consist of mom, pops and the child. Occasionally I’ll get a family with two kids. Although being the biggest should have presented a lot of difficulty in getting the “right shot”, it was one of the most creative. Each of the siblings in the Hwang family I’ve had the honor of building relationships with.

Kathryn was in my class when I was serving in Children’s Ministry at San Francisco Full Gospel

I’ve had the privilege of going to Rancho de Sus Ninos twice for mission’s with Jon

Chris I’ve known through his involvement with the amazing rap duo known as OPCC

Everyone of the Hwangs were so into having fun during this session. Including Mr. Hwang
It’s funny that the photo session started as a formal family portrait session where everyone was really well dressed up and posing. To the this all out just having fun session with everyone just enjoying a nice day out in the sun. To view the rest of the photos from the session click the photo below.
Have I mentioned that I really like Wordpress 2.5? It’s simple and clean. The layout is a lot more intuitive and it works so well. I might be over doing it but I think Wordpress 2.5 has put the fun back into blogging again. I’ve been trying to get into the groove of blogging more often but it’s been hard getting the ball rolling.
With this update the visual changes seems to be stimulating my desire to blog. Hopefully this steam will hold up and I’ll be blogging more regularly.
Those of you who are not familiar with Wordpress, the new update I speak of is the back-end system. Where the entries and everything is created. This is called the Dashboard. A job well done and it inspires me to make a custom Facedown Photography theme. But I want to make it simple, clean, and fun. It’ll be a challenge but I hope something nice will come out of it.
My old college friends Alex and Eve got married a few weeks ago. They invited me to be a photographer at their wedding. It was a lot of fun seeing people I went to college with and old faces I haven’t seen for years since moving out to San Francisco. I think because I was photographing my friends I had a lot of fun.
I have a lot of respect for wedding photographers. I am in no shape or form a wedding photographer. I enjoy photographing my friends. But to do it as a profession. It doesn’t appeal to me. I was shooting pretty conservatively since there was a hired wedding photographer. With rehearsal shots and shots from the actual wedding I ended up with a image count of 740 pictures. Out of all those only 231 photos made the cut.
I realized more and more I enjoy children’s photography/portraiture. I often hear wedding photographers enjoying their chance to get to know their clients and engage in a way that they become part of each others lives. Which I think is a huge key to success in building any sort of business. I on the other hand I enjoy getting to know children. I enjoy having talks with them, watching movies or cartoons with them, or playing video games or hanging out at the park.
I simply have fun. Which makes photographing them so much more enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong wedding photography can be very fun! Just check out photographers like Mike Colon or Kenny Kim. They enjoy their job. They have a passion and excitement for their industry that amazes me. My joy comes from taking photos of kids.
Anywho I’m about half way through editing Alex and Eve’s wedding photos. I haven’t had much time lately but I hope to have them finished in a few days. Once they are done I’ll post them up here.
Until then here is a collage I made of the groomsmen to act as a teaser. Enjoy!
